Good notes help separate waterproofing, foundation crack moisture, drain tile, sump, crawl space, and exterior drainage needs before estimates are compared.
- Look for water moving toward the foundation from uphill areas.
- Check whether downspouts and sump discharge outlets send water away from the home.
- Document low spots, settled soil, and paved surfaces that pitch toward the house.
- Ask whether exterior drainage work should happen before or with interior waterproofing.
When to request quotes
Request quotes when water repeats, cracks leak, the basement is finished, the sump system is unclear, or you want a plan before thaw and storm season.
